From DVSA MOT History, the official source for vehicle data in the United Kingdom. Plateop combines that data with the listing you enter yourself; we never fetch listings from other sites ourselves.
Do I need the license plate?
Yes, for the official data you do — the UK number plate (VRM) is 2 to 7 letters and digits (for example AA19AAA). Without a plate you can enter the car manually, but then there is nothing to check your input against.
What does a report cost?

Do I need an account?

What can you not see in the United Kingdom?
The damage or title history, whether there is a lien on the car, and CO2 emissions, fuel consumption, weight and power — the DVSA does not provide these. We do see the full MOT test history for this specific car (including past defects), whether the MOT is currently valid, and whether there is an open manufacturer recall for this specific vehicle. We also use the DVSA's mileage history to check whether the odometer reading is consistent, but we do not show that reading-by-reading history as a separate list.
